Kenyan coach Amiani to work with Tanzania XV

Tanzania Rugby Union have roped in Kenyan coach Kevin Amiani to assist their Tanzania XV Rugby team.

Amiani who serves as head coach for KRU championship outfit South Coast Pirates is a level two coaching certification holder. He has previously led Pirates to two KRU championship semis.

Throughout his coaching career, Amiani has harbored a long-term ambition to coach at the highest levels possible.

With his appointment as Tanzania XV Rugby Coach,he is now poised to take on this exciting challenge, the youthful tactician was a man over the moon while speaking to Scrummage Africa.

“I was super excited to receive the opportunity,it has always been my ambition as a coach to coach at the highest levels possible.”

“Am looking forward to grow Rugby in Tanzania to reach international standards” he added.

His tactical acumen, combined with his deep understanding of the game, grooming young talents from grassroots level highly will be key for the country.

Develop a national team

The new role presents Amiani with a platform to make a lasting impact on Tanzania rugby, his focus will be on developing a strong and cohesive national team that can complete with the best in the world, his sole goal is to raise the profile of Tanzania rugby and establish it as a force to reckoned with on the international stage.

His first assignment saw Tanzania lose 17-7 to Welsh side Bryncenthin Rfc last weekend.
