“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Wabulwenyi for his service to the Kenya Rugby Union and the game of rugby and wish him all the best in his future endeavours,” the statement further reads.
During this transitional period, the KRU has appointed Mr. Thomas Odundo, the current KRU Director of Rugby, as the acting Chief Executive Officer.
“In the interim, Mr. Thomas Odundo takes charge as the acting Chief Executive Officer,” read the statement.
Odundo brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, having previously served as an international player, coach, and administrator.
As the Director of Rugby, Odundo has demonstrated his commitment to the development and growth of rugby in Kenya. His vast experience and understanding of the sport make him a suitable candidate to lead the Union during this interim period.
Looking ahead, the Kenya Rugby Union has outlined plans to initiate a competitive recruitment process in search of a new Chief Executive Officer.
The Union aims to find a qualified and capable individual who can contribute to the continued progress and success of rugby in Kenya.
