Vihiga High School rugby Team have won the Vihiga County Rugby 7s Schools title following a 17-0 win over Chavakali High School in the final played on Saturday 27 August.
Sebastian Ochieng coached side was on a fine run in the competition and did not concede throughout the competition. They head to the regionals together with Chavakali who were runners-up and fast-rising Senende who grabbed the third spot.
To beat Chavakali, Vihiga landed three tries and converted one. Western Region Prescott Cup player of the tournament Michael Lukusi once again impressed in this tournament and he grabbed two tries in the win while Paul Murwa got the third try and converted it.

Vihiga saw off Senende now under coach Peter Simwa 26-0 while Chavakali knocked out Ebusiloli following a 29-0 in the semis.
In the quarters, Vihiga defeated Ebulonga as Chavakali beat Emusire. Senende settled for the third spot after a 29-5 win over Ebusiloli.
Qualified teams focus on the Regionals while the losers are set to begin preparations for the 15s competition expected to kick off in 2023.
