South Coast Pirates Head Coach Kevin Amiani has called on his charges not to dwell on their previous wins and called for focus ahead of their encounter against University of Eldoret UOE set for Seacrest Grounds, Diani 3pm.
The Diani based outfit recently bounced back to winning ways and registered two consecutive wins against Western bulls and Shamas foundation respectively.
The youthful tactician now admits it was the wins restored confidence in the team but with a load of crucial matches ahead,full focus need to be applied.
“The two wins against Western Bulls (away) and Shamas Foundation (home) restored confidence and playoffs hopes, the boys need to clear off the celebration and focus on critical ties ahead as we seek to cement the playoffs position” he told the Scrummage Africa in a pre-match interview.
Amiani who led Pirates to third place finish last season in his first stint as head coach remains upbeat that his players will still pull another stellar performance this season.
“Our target remains the same as last season, we make it to playoffs and get promoted to the top tier” he said.
On injuries,and preparedness, the coach stated that there are few concerns but he’s happy he has a depth to select from, and ready to take on their visitors.
“I believe we are ready to take on UOE,who are equally a good side,I believe my boys will make sure we get the maximum points after 80 minutes”.he said.
Heading into the match the visitors UOE are currently placed eighth on the log with 12 points,7 adrift hosts (pirates) who are third with 19 points,after six rounds.
