South Africa have strengthened their position at the summit of the men’s HSBC SVNS World Championship standings following the conclusion of the Valladolid 7s, where they finished second.
Bagging 18 points after a second place finish in Valladolid, SA stay top with 38 points after the run.
Argentina sit second on 34 points after a consistent campaign, while Australia occupy third place with 30 points. Fiji, Spain, and New Zealand are tightly grouped in fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively, all separated only by points difference on 26 points.
France hold seventh place on 14 points, just ahead of Kenya 7s, who also sit on 14 points in eighth after a challenging Valladolid outing. With 14 points Shujaa are eight points above the dangerzone and need to finish above, Uruguay, Germany, USA, and Great Britain to be part of the 2027 campaign SVNS Series.

In the women’s competition, Australia continue to set the pace with 38 points, narrowly ahead of New Zealand on 36 points. USA remain in contention in third with 30 points, while France and Canada share a close battle for fourth and fifth on 28 points each.
Japan sit sixth with 20 points, followed by Fiji in seventh and hosts Spain in eighth. Brazil, South Africa, Argentina, and Great Britain complete the women’s standings.
The teams head to France for Bordeaux 7s where the top eight teams will earn a place as core teams for the 2026–27 World Sevens Series while the top placed team will be crowned Champion.
The bottom four sides will head to SVNS 2.
