Black Pirates have qualified for the Enterprise Cup final following a hard-fought 20-17 win over Nondescripts in the semi-final played at Kings Park in Uganda on Saturday.

Pirates will now face Kabras RFC in the final as they look to dethrone the defending champions, who have remained unbeaten in the Enterprise Cup since 2019.

William Nkore had an early opportunity to give Pirates the lead with a drop goal but missed, before making amends moments later by slotting in a penalty for a 3-0 advantage.

Pirates held firm defensively, but Nondies responded through Calvin Sheunda, who leveled matters at 3-3 with a penalty.

Nondies then took control of the game when Fidens Tony broke through and grounded the ball for a try, which was converted to give them a 10-3 lead.

Pirates responded with intent, moving the ball swiftly through the hands to create space for Jeremiah Okello, who crossed over for a try. The successful conversion saw the sides head into the break tied at 10-10.

In the second half, Pirates came out stronger, with Alex Aturinda going over for a try to hand the hosts a 15-10 lead, although the conversion attempt was unsuccessful. They extended their advantage shortly after, with Conrad Wanyama crossing over to make it 20-10.

Nondies kept pushing and were rewarded late on with a converted try that narrowed the deficit to 20-17, setting up a tense finish. However, Pirates held on to secure the victory and book their place in the final.
