Ugandan champions Black Pirates produced the biggest result of the Enterprise Cup cross-border quarterfinals, edging out KCB Rugby 11–10 at Wankulukuku to knock the Kenyan side out of the competition.
The result condemns KCB to yet another season without the Enterprise Cup title, a trophy they last lifted in 2017.
Heading into the clash, Pirates—who are both Uganda Cup and Premiership champions, named at least 13 Ugandan internationals in the starting squad =, underlining their intent to cause an upset. KCB, on their part, also fielded a squad with International experience, keen to progress to the semifinals.
The first half was a tight, tactical battle with defenses on top. Pirates took control through the boot of William Nkore, who slotted two penalties to give the hosts a 6–0 lead at the break as neither side managed to breach the try line.
KCB returned from halftime determined to respond despite the slippery conditions and needed just seven minutes to get on the scoreboard. Back rower Sheldon Kahi powered over after a strong carry, beating multiple defenders to score and cut the deficit to 6–5.

However, Pirates responded almost immediately, crossing over for an unconverted try to extend their lead to 11–5 and maintain control of the contest.
KCB refused to back down and continued to pile pressure. Their efforts paid off when Mike Wekesa executed a well-timed kick-and-chase, beating Conrad Wanyama to the ball to score in the corner. The conversion, however, was missed, leaving the bankers trailing by a single point.
Pirates held firm in the closing stages to seal a famous 11–10 victory and book their place in the semifinals.
The result sees KCB Rugby become the only Kenyan side eliminated at this stage, while Pirates stand as the sole non-Kenyan team advancing to the last four.
