14-man Daystar Falcons produced a composed display to defeat Nakuru RFC 35–20 and secure a crucial bonus-point victory in a thrilling league encounter in Athi River.

The hosts got off to a flying start when centre Augustine Owino crossed over just two minutes into the match, with Joseph Wakhisi adding the conversion for a 7–0 lead.

Nakuru RFC responded in the 10th minute through lock and captain Felix Okoth, who powered over to cut the deficit to 7–5. Daystar, however, restored control in the 29th minute when hooker Ezekiel Omeno crashed over for their second try, with Wakhisi again converting to stretch the lead to 14–5 at the break.

Nakuru were forced to play a man down late in the first half after Josephat Njunye was shown a yellow card, but the scoreline remained unchanged heading into the interval.

Felix Okoth once again led from the front early in the second half, landing his second try to trim the gap to just four points. Daystar responded immediately, with Owino grabbing his second of the afternoon before Wakhisi’s conversion pushed the score to 21–10.

The Falcons were then reduced to 14 men after David Imani was sin-binned, and Nakuru capitalised as Emmanuel Mboya crossed over to bring the visitors back into contention.

Daystar, however, shifted gears and secured the all-important bonus point when Arnold Agonda went over to make it 26–15. Clinton Amukwachi stretched the lead further with another try, which Paul Murwa converted for a 35–15 scoreline.

Late drama followed as Daystar conceded another yellow card with eight minutes remaining and then lost Wakhisi to a red card. Nakuru took advantage, with James Thiongo scoring their fourth try to secure a losing bonus point.
