Kabras Sugar Eric Shirley Shield produced another dominant display to defeat MMUST II, securing a 36-3 victory in their second meeting of the season in the Erick Shirley Shield.

This was the second time the two sides were facing off, with the opening-day clash, counted as a friendly, having ended 22-7 in favour of Kabras despite the sugarmen fielding several young players.

This time, Kabras named their regular ESS squad and immediately stamped authority on the contest. Kabras took a 17-0 lead into halftime after a strong first-half performance.

Patrick Kluivert opened the scoring, continuing his fine form after bagging a brace in last weekend’s 78-3 win over Kisumu. Mike Lukusi missed the conversion, but Kabras extended their advantage through a forward-play try by Gibson Perez, though Lukusi again failed to add the extras.

Their third try of the half came from winger Darrell Oluoch, who finished off a scrum shove, grounding the ball in the corner. Lukusi converted to give Kabras a comfortable 17-0 cushion at the break.

In the second half, Kabras maintained control. Opting for a scrum after winning a penalty, the forwards powered over once again, allowing Jacktone Oso to complete his brace. This time, James Olela stepped up and converted for a 31-3 lead.

A long medical stoppage followed due to an injury to a MMUST player, but Kabras resumed from the break with the same momentum. They added another try from a maul, with Jibril Igonzo crashing over to push the score to 36-3.
