Heathens began their Uganda Cup journey on a high, coming from behind to defeat Impis 29–6 in the opening round of the group stages at Kyadondo.
After conceding early penalties, Heathens found their rhythm and took control of the contest through a moment of brilliance. Michael Amollo produced a clever offload to find Michael Wokorach, who crossed for their first try. The conversion went wide.
The momentum continued as Aaron Ofoyrwoth linked up beautifully with Denis Etwau, who offloaded to Amollo to score his second try of the game. From there, they looked comfortable.
Off a scrum, Kato Nicholas fed Ofoyrwoth, who sliced through the Impis defence to score another try, before Ofoyrwoth turned provider again, sending a long pass to Trevor Ochan who connected with Joseph Oyet to finish off the move and convert his own try.
