Acting Kenya Lionesses head coach Simon Odongo has unveiled a 12-player squad that will represent the country at the 27th edition of the Safari 7s, set for October 10–12 at Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi.
The team blends experience with youthful energy as the Lionesses prepare to face regional and international opposition on home soil.
Sheila Chajira and Freshia Awino will co-captain the side, bringing valuable leadership and stability to the squad.
The squad also features key players Naomi Amuguni, Charity Nillah, Moreen Muritu, Christabel Lindo, and Janet Okello, who have all been instrumental for the national team in previous outings.
Rising stars Faith Achieng and Marvel Oswago are the two debutants, earning their first call-ups.

The Lionesses will be up against strong opposition in the women’s category, which includes Belgium, Shogun, Tunisia, Uganda, Kenya Cubs, Zimbabwe, and Costa Blanca Barbarians.
Kenya will be aiming to improve their recent record after Costa Blanca Barbarians from Spain won the 2024 Safari 7s women’s title, defeating the Lionesses 24-10 in a pulsating final at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
The Lionesses also fell short in 2023, losing to Uganda in the final, and will be eager to reclaim their dominance on home turf this year.
