The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) confirmed their participation on Saturday via social media.

Safari 7s confirmation

“Confirmed! The French Renegades will be participating in the 27th edition of the #Safari7s, happening at Nyayo Stadium from 10th-12th October,” KRU announced.

Their confirmation comes just a day after it was revealed that the UK Select team will also be competing in the tournament.

The Safari 7s will return to Nyayo Stadium for the first time since 2021, when Shujaa defeated Germany in the final to lift the trophy. The 2023 edition was held at the RFUEA Grounds, while the 2024 edition took place at Machakos Stadium.

Safari 7s at Nyayo

This will be the fourth time the 35,000-seater Nyayo National Stadium hosts the tournament. The venue previously staged the event in 2011 and 2012 after rising attendance numbers outgrew the RFUEA Grounds.

Kenya Shujaa and Costa Blanca Ladies are the reigning champions, having claimed the men’s and women’s titles respectively during the 2024 tournament in Machakos.
