The Dala 7s will mark the final leg of the National 7s Circuit, with 16 teams battling for the top division trophy at Mamboleo Stadium while 20 teams compete in the second division at Kisumu Polytechnic.
This will be the first time since 2017 that Kisumu City hosts the season finale, and the stakes couldn’t be higher as the title race will be decided on Sunday.
KCB Rugby will be keen to set a new record in Kisumu by winning the fifth National 7s Circuit title making it a crucial outing for them.
Scrummage Africa takes a look at reason why you should not skip this year’s Dala 7s:
Thrilling rugby action from start
The action at Mamboleo Stadium promises thrilling rugby from the very start. Catholic Monks will open the tournament against Nakuru RFC, setting the tone for a packed day of matches.
Defending champions Kabras RFC will then face MMUST in a heated Lurambi Derby, while later fixtures will feature the Ngong Road derby between Kenya Harlequin and Nondies, KCB Rugby against Mwamba, and Menengai Oilers taking on Strathmore Leos.
These matchups will pave the way for a supercharged Sunday, where potential title-deciding clashes could see KCB face either Strathmore Leos or Menengai Oilers in the quarters in what will be a crucial decider of the campaign.
Kabras who have failed to reach the final this season will be keen to defend Dala 7s while Menengai Oilers will also chase a trophy after failing to scoop one in the first legs. Daystar Falcons rise, Strathmore Leos bounce are what fans will be keen to see.
Entertainment on and off pitch
But it’s not just about rugby. Fans can look forward to top-tier entertainment throughout the weekend. DJs Dimore, Ves, Grauchi, and Hype Ballo will keep the energy levels high, while Coster Ojwang will perform on Saturday.
The Sunday afterparty will feature Odongo Swag, ensuring the season finale ends on a high note.
Perfect weekend for friends and families
For those coming in groups, Mamboleo Stadium offers the perfect hangout spot with its spacious and family-friendly atmosphere.
