Kenya cup side, Kisumu RFC have made a heartfelt appeal to the community for financial assistance to sustain its operations and meet match commitments.
The club, known for nurturing young rugby talent, is currently facing financial challenges that jeopardize its participation in the Kenya Cup.
In a recent statement, Kisumu RFC highlighted its dependence on the generosity of supporters to keep the team afloat. Despite being resilient and determined to compete at the highest level, the absence of a formal sponsor continues to create financial hurdles.
The club is urging fans, supporters, and the wider rugby community to contribute towards ensuring that the team can complete its remaining fixtures while improving player welfare.
“As a club built by and for the people, we rely entirely on the goodwill of our supporters to maintain our operations and honor our match commitments. Despite facing financial constraints, we take immense pride in our standing in the Kenya Cup, showcasing the untapped rugby potential that Kisumu has to offer.

“This season, our team is stronger than ever, reflecting the resilience and talent of our community. However, without a formal sponsor, financial struggles threaten our ability to support our players effectively.
“We are reaching out to you, our friends, supporters, and the broader rugby family to help us ensure that we can fulfill our remaining matches while also enhancing the welfare of our dedicated players. Your contributions, whether big or small, will significantly impact the sustainability of this community club,” the statement read.
Donations can be made directly to the club’s official M-Pesa account using Paybill number 522522 and account number 1173096280.
Currently, Kisumu RFC has earned 11 points from 7 matches, with two wins and five losses. To avoid relegation, the team must secure maximum points from its remaining five matches. They travel to Nakuru this weekend to face off with Nakuru RFC.
