Kenya Harlequin have confirmed the departure of their Team Manager, Maggie Nyabila, ahead of the Kenya Cup resumption.

Nyabila, who joined Quins in December 2020 as an Assistant Team Manager, has been with the club for nearly four years.

In a statement, Quins expressed their gratitude for Nyabila’s dedication and service:

Kenya Harlequin statement

“Maggie!! What an epic run you’ve had at Quins! Thank you for your dedication and service to the club — we were truly blessed to have you on our team. While we’re sad to see you go, we’re also so proud and excited to see you move forward and thrive. Wishing you nothing but success and endless wins in your next chapter. Keep shining, @maggie_nyabila, and remember — Once a Quin, always a Quin!”

Nyabila, who previously served in a similar role at Mwamba, leaves Quins as they gear up for the new year’s action. Her departure marks the end of a significant chapter for the club and her personal career.

As part of the National 7s Circuit, Kenya Harlequin are preparing for a much-anticipated Ngong Road Derby against Impala RFC. This will be the first meeting between the two rivals since the 2021/22 season, where Quins secured a 29-20 victory during the regular season—a result that contributed to Impala’s relegation.

The derby is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at RFUEA Grounds, with Harlequin entering the match unbeaten so far this season. Impala, on the other hand, have managed just one win. The day’s action at the RFUEA Grounds will also feature two Eric Shirley Shield matches.
