After three years of uncertainty, Mwamba Rugby Club have secured a permanent home at the Goan Institute in Pangani, Nairobi, following a landmark partnership.
This move marks a significant milestone for the club, which has been without a stable base since its exit from the historic Nairobi Railway Club.
The new partnership, effective from January 1, 2025, will provide Mwamba Rugby with access to the Goan Institute’s sports facilities, ensuring a stable environment for the club’s operations, training sessions, and match-day activities.
This collaboration also includes a comprehensive agreement outlining the use of the Institute’s fields on designated days, facilitating the smooth continuation of Mwamba’s programs across multiple leagues.
The Goan Institute will serve as the home ground for Mwamba’s men’s and women’s teams, who compete in four different leagues, and will host major events such as the renowned Kabeberi Sevens, which is scheduled to take place between July and September 2025.
This new partnership also includes provisions for the rehabilitation and maintenance of the pitches to meet the standards of the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU).
