Nondies secured their third consecutive Kenya Cup victory over Strathmore Leos with a 22-13 win at the Ngong Racecourse, marking former coach Willis Ojal’s return to face his former side as the season commenced.
Moseti Nyaenya opened the scoring with a penalty for Nondies, giving them an early 3-0 lead. Strathmore’s kicker missed his first attempt but managed to level the scores at 3-3 shortly after, though he missed another kick before the break.
The Leos capitalized on a break down the left wing to score the game’s first try, which was successfully converted, giving them a 10-3 halftime advantage.
Nondies responded in the second half with a corner try to narrow the gap to 10-8. A penalty try followed as repeated infringements by the Leos allowed Nondies to retake the lead.
