Reflecting on the Legends Cup match, Omondi admitted that age was starting to take its toll on the team but praised both the Ugandan side and the fans for their support.

“It’s not getting any easier, our age is beginning to show. A big thank you to the Ugandans for always gracing this occasion. We are very grateful to them. I also want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who showed up today, despite the weather not being kind, they stuck with us throughout the game,” he stated.

Uganda’s rise

Omondi also acknowledged Uganda’s improvement, noting that the gap between the two teams is narrowing.

“Uganda are playing very well, and it’s just a matter of time before they catch up with us. We have to keep working harder,” he added.
