The dates for the Rugby 15s preseason Impala Floodlit Tournament have been confirmed ahead of the new season.
Impala have announced that the competition will kick off on October 19, with the semi-finals taking place on October 26.

The tournament will conclude with the finals on November 2, setting the stage for the new Kenya Cup season, which is slated to start in November.

KCB Rugby hold the record for the most titles won in the Impala Floodlit Tournament, having secured their 10th title last year after defeating Nondies 25-23 in extra time.

This victory allowed the bankers to surpass Mean Machine, who had nine titles. KCB are also the first team to win the Floodlit Tournament five consecutive times.
Heading into last year’s edition, KCB had already won four consecutive titles, while Nondies were making back-to-back final appearances, having last won the title in 2012.
KCB, aiming to solidify their dominance in the competition, took the lead with an early try by centre Peter Kilonzo, which was converted by Darwin Mukidza for a 7-0 advantage. Nondies responded with two penalties from Calvin Sheunda, narrowing the gap to 7-6 at halftime.

In the second half, Mukidza slotted three penalties, while Sheunda added one for Nondies, changing the score to 16-9. Nondies fought back with a try from Nyaenya Moseti, which was converted, leveling the score at 16-16 and sending the game into extra time.

In extra time, Mukidza kicked three more penalties to give KCB a 25-16 lead. Nondies responded with a converted try, bringing the score to 25-23, but KCB held on to their slim lead to claim their fifth consecutive title and 10th overall.
