Vihiga High School’s playmaker, Victor Wawire, was honoured as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the FEASSSA 7s games, playing a pivotal role in securing the team’s first-ever Regional title.
Wawire, a dynamic half-back, was instrumental throughout the tournament, contributing significantly with three tries and four conversions. His exceptional playmaking skills were crucial in Vihiga’s successful campaign.
Wawire part of Kenya U18
In July, Wawire was selected for the Kenya Under-18 Western Region squad by head coach Paul Odera. His standout performances included a crucial try that propelled Vihiga to the FEASSSA final for the second consecutive year, where they defeated St. Mary’s Yala 19-5.
In the final, Wawire scored a brace of tries, ending Vihiga’s five-match losing streak in major finals.

In the girls’ category, the MVP award went to Jacqueline Kagwiria of St. Joseph’s Girls Kitale. Kagwiria, who captained her team from the KSSSA games to the East African games, demonstrated exceptional leadership and skill throughout the tournament.
Under Kagwiria’s captaincy, St. Joseph’s Girls Kitale triumphed in several prestigious tournaments, including the 7s Scrummage Katch 7s, the Rift Valley Title, and the National 7s title, showcasing their dominance in the sport.
