Lions De Fer RFC emerged victorious in the Rwanda Rugby National 15s League, defeating Resilience RFC 30-11 in the final match held at Camp Kigali Playground on Sunday.
The win secured Lions De Fer the league title for the 2024 season.

The match saw Lions De Fer take an early lead, finishing the first half with a 10-0 advantage. They continued their dominance in the second half, adding 20 points, while Resilience managed a try and two penalties.
Kanyamahanga Donat of Lions De Fer RFC was named the 2024 MVP for his outstanding performance throughout the season.

In other matches, Kigali Sharks RFC secured the runner-up position by defeating Gitisi TSS 17-13. Ruhango Zebras Women RFC claimed the women’s championship title with a decisive 41-11 victory.
Pascaline Uwicyeza from Ruhango Zebras Women RFC was honored as the MVP of the 2024 women’s season.
The 2024 Rwanda Rugby National League season concluded with thrilling matches in both the men’s and women’s 15-aside competitions. The league, which commenced on March 23, 2024, featured four women’s teams and nine men’s teams divided into two groups, A and B, competing in a single round-robin format during the group stages.
The season’s successful conclusion highlights the growing popularity and competitive spirit of rugby in Rwanda, with both the men’s and women’s teams showcasing impressive talent and sportsmanship.
