Monate Akuei made an impressive debut for the Seattle Seawolves as the side picked up a 26-24 win over Old Glory DC in a sold-out Starfire Stadium, Tukwila.
Akuei was signed by Head Coach Allen Clarke after his squad was plagued by injuries. He joined the squad for the remainder of the season and posted impressive statistics.

This performance earned him the award presented by Brotherton Cadillac. The win left the Seattle Seawolves second on the log with nine wins and three losses.

In 2023, Akuei first played in Major League Rugby for the Champions Rugby New York.
His Kenya Cup debut came during the 2016-17 season against Mwamba when he was named to flank on the open side of the Wanyore’s pack. He kept the slot the entire season, playing every single minute in the competition.
Akuei has played six matches for Kenya Simbas and won the Safari 7s with Kenya 7s in 2019.
