Makueni Head Coach Ken Munyao has announced his 24-man squad to play Stingers RFC in the Nairobi Nationwide which is scheduled for 27 January 2024 at Kabete Poly from 3 pm.
The side has made a few changes with Dennis Ochieng and Wallace Kiarie being included in the squad for their first start of the season.
John Irungu, David Ng’ang’a, Ibrahim Franklin and Dennis Odhiambo drop to the bench.
Kilian Anyangu will lead the squad during the Nairobi Nationwide duty with assistance from his vices, Clyde Ochieng and Emmanuel Kilonzo.
Makueni’s front row will feature Louis Sawaya as the loosehead prop, Ochieng as the hooker and Titus Kasili as the tighthead prop.
Clyde will start at number 4 lock while William Awillo will be the number 5 lock. They will connect the front row to the back rowers, Rian Odhiambo( blindside flanker), Anyangu( openside flanker) and Bill Bunyasi at number 8.
The fly half Joseph Kilonzo will link the scrum half Wallace Kiare with centers Joseph Nzomo and Emmanuel Kilonzo.
Collins Swala is the squad’s left winger and is connected to right winger Sammy Ochieng by fullback Brian Kavita.
John Irungu, Dennis Odhiambo, Ibrahim Franklin, Peter Mulei, Benard Mulei, Dedan Gichuki, David Ng’ang’a, Eddie Masinde and Castro Odhiambo will make Makueni’s strong and experienced bench.
