Former Kabras RFC captain Dan Sikuta has announced his departure from the Kenya Cup Champions when his contract expires next month.
Sikuta has been a key part of the Kabras squad since 2016, contributing to the club’s success by winning the National 7s Circuit, one Charity Cup, two Enterprise Cup titles, and two Kenya Cup titles during his seven-year tenure.

His decision to leave the club comes after it was confirmed that Kabras would not offer him a new contract.
In a statement, Sikuta expressed the difficulty of his decision to leave Kabras RFC, a club that has been his home for many years.
He acknowledged the pride he feels for the titles they have won together, highlighting the role of determination, belief, discipline, and hard work from all the club stakeholders.
“It has been a tough decision to make leaving Kabras RFC that has been home to me for many years. We had a meeting with club management and agreed that I will leave the club when my contract expires,” he said in a statement.
“I’m very proud for the titles we won here (2 Kenya Cup,2 Enterprise,1 Seven’s circuit cup). All these we have earned through determination, believe, discipline and hard work from all the club stakeholders,” he added.

Sikuta also expressed gratitude to the coaches who played a crucial role in his rugby career development and his former teammates for creating a supportive environment. He thanked the Kabras fans for their unwavering support throughout his tenure.
“To the coaches ( Mike Bishop ,cardovilis,Henley, mzi,Jerome)that who helped develop my rugby carrier salute to you.
To my former teammates I’m grateful for good environment we created and achieved a lot together. And also allowing me to lead you guys as Captain. I wish you guys all the very best in your upcoming assignments,” he added.
“Kabras’ Fans ASANTENI SANA for your massive support that you showed me throughout my tenure. Always remember “LEVELS AND STANDARDS”. It was PLEASURE!!!,” he concluded.
Sikuta played for Mwamba RFC from 2010 to 2016 before joining Kabras RFC in August 2016. He was appointed captain in 2021 by coach Mzingaye Nyathi. He was replaced by George Nyambua last season.
