Nondies RFC has secured a spot in the semifinals of the Enterprise Cup after receiving a walkover from South Coast Pirates.

The two teams were scheduled to meet at the Ngong Race Course grounds, but this unexpected turn of events allowed Nondies to advance without taking the field.

“EnterpriseCup action resumes this weekend as Kenya Harlequins travel to the forest to take on Kabras Sugar Rugby. KCB Rugby Club host Catholic Monks Rugby. Menengai Oilers host Homeboyz Rugby in Nakuru. Nondescripts RFC earn a straight ticket to the semis after getting a walkover from South Coast Pirates,” a statement by KRU stated

This year’s Enterprise Cup has faced challenges similar to those encountered during its much-anticipated return in 2023, with several teams giving walkovers.

In the pre-quarterfinals played on December 14, 2024, three other teams also benefited from similar situations. Kabras RFC was awarded a 28-0 victory after Kisumu RFC failed to attend their match.

Blak Blad also did not make the trip to the coast for their scheduled game against South Coast Pirates, resulting in another 28-0 walkover for the Pirates. Additionally, Homeboyz RFC received a 28-0 walkover due to the unavailability of their opponents, Mmust RFC.

This year’s Enterprise Cup marks a significant change as it runs concurrently with the Kenya Cup season, a departure from previous years when it was held after the conclusion of the 15s season.

The semifinals are set for March 8, and the final will take place on April 22, 2025.
