Patrick Sabatia and Hillary Odhiambo bagged a brace each as Kabras RFC picked a 62-6 win over Blak Blad in a Kenya Cup match played at Kakamega Showground.
It marked Kabras RFC’s 14 straight win over Blad in the Kenya Cup since promotion. It was their seventh straight win this season.
It was a lock affair with both second rowers getting on the scoresheet early on. Kabras first visit to Blad 22 resulted in a try with a forward passage of play leading to Hillary Odhiambo’s try at the left corner. Jone Kubu added the extras for 7-0.
Minutes later impressive passage of play saw Patrick Sabatia slice through the defence and land a second try with a conversion by Jone Kubu falling short.
Blad would almost pull back after Derrick Masese’s beautiful footwork but were let down by decision-making. However, they won a penalty drilled in for a 12-3 score.
Kabras third try was ruled with Sabatia’s try being cancelled for a forward pass from Kubu.
The Sugarmen were forced to work for the third try with Blad thwarting their efforts on several occasions.

Blad however could not stop a scrum surge by Kabras in their five-metre line and it was Jeanson Misoga at the back who touched down for a 19-3 lead.
Blad won another penalty for a 19-6 score but Kabras took a 26-6 lead to the break when Ephraim Oduor powered over for a centre post try which was converted for 20 point lead handing the side a bonus point.
The skies opened, ushering in the second half but did not deter the hosts Kabras, their fifth try was from Sabatia who benefitted from a pass from Eric Cantona and dived over despite pressure from Obat Kuke. Kubu added the extras for 33-6.
Off the line out, Kabras scored a try at the left corner through Collins Indeche for a 38-6 lead. Barry Robinson joined the scoresheet also scoring from open play for 45-6 after Cantona converted.
William Mwanji came off the bench to push Kabras to the 50s scoring at the left corner for a 50-6.
Walter Okoth had a darting run through the defence but could not land a try as he was tackled and lost the ball before he dived over.
Despite Mathias Osimbo sinbin Kabras managed to add more points with Odhiambo diving over for a try that was converted for 57-6.
