Mutua’s hat-trick powers Kabras RFC to big win over Nakuru, extends NAC dominance

Kabras RFC continued their dominance over Nakuru RFC with a commanding 57-6 victory at Nakuru Athletic Club (NAC), extending their unblemished record at the venue in Kenya Cup week six action.

The Sugarmen, now with 13 wins in 16 league meetings against Nakuru, have solidified their spot with 30 points after six rounds.

Kabras RFC tries

Nakuru initially took the lead with an early penalty, but Kabras responded through Gabriel Adero, who rose from the back of the scrum to score the first try. Eric Cantona added the conversion to make it 7-3.

Wanyore managed another three points, but Kabras’ centre Brian Mutua, making his first start of the season, landed two consecutive tries. Cantona’s accurate conversions pushed the score to 21-3.

Prop Edward Mwaura added Kabras’ fourth try before halftime, with Cantona maintaining his perfect kicking form to extend the lead to 28-3 at the break.

The second half began with Patrick Lumumba opening the scoring with an unconverted try. Adero secured his brace with another eighth-man pick, followed by Mutua capitalizing on Jone Kubu’s grabber kick to ground the ball. Cantona’s boot made it 47-6.

Lumumba powered through for his second try of the day, putting Kabras further ahead at 52-6. Speedster Griffin Chao wrapped up the scoring with his 14th try of the season, cementing Kabras’ dominant 57-6 win and their unassailable record at NAC.

Kabras RFC remain the team to beat in this year’s Kenya Cup campaign.
