Menengai Oilers head coach Gibson Weru has opted to retain the winning squad that defeated Blak Blad last weekend for their crucial Kenya Cup match against Kenya Harlequin at RFUEA Grounds.

Clarkson Keegan, who started at scrum-half last weekend, will continue in the number nine jersey, with Samuel Mwaura retaining his place at fly-half. The midfield partnership of Samuel Ovwamu and Chrispin Shitundo remains intact, providing consistency halfway into the season.

Menengai Oilers back three

In the back three, Kenya Simbas wingers Beldad Ogeta and Timothy Omela keep their places, with Abutwalib Wesonga starting at fullback.

The back row sees Elkeans Musonye, the club’s top try-scorer this season with nine tries, retained at number eight. He will be supported by flankers Nelson Makokha and Clinton Odhiambo.

In the second row, captain Ibrahim Ayoo and Charles Osgood continue their lock partnership, while the front row features Destrious Ifedha, Celestine Mboi, and Vincent Mwikhali.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

Oilers head into the game on a five-match winning streak and will be eager to avenge their 33-16 defeat to Quins last season. Historically, Oilers have faced Quins eight times, winning five, losing two, and drawing once.

However, the Nakuru-based side has only managed one away win against Quins in three visits to RFUEA Grounds.
