The 13th edition of the Eastern African University 7s Games began successfully at Maseno University in Kenya.
Uganda Martyrs University started strong in the pool phase matches with a 17-14 victory over Kenya’s Kisii University with TUM University handing hosts Maseno University a 14-00 loss.
East African University 7s
Kisii University recovered from their first loss defeating their counterparts from Kenya USIU-Africa 24-12. Uganda Christian University registered a 26-19 win over Maseno University.
Uganda Martyrs University beat USIU-Africa 17-00 to record their second win. UCU also suffered a 17-12 loss to TUM in the last Pool phase clash.
Uganda Martyrs University is now set to face off with their counterparts from Uganda, Uganda Christian University in the first semi-final.

TUM will play against Kisii University in the other semi-final while USIU-Africa will lock horns with Maseno University in the fifth place final.
The semis are set to be streamed live on Scrummage Africa TV You Tube from 3:00 pm.
Strathmore University are the defending champions having won Gold in Rugby at the 12th edition of the Eastern Africa University Games in 2022, held at Ndejje University which had five teams competing in Rugby.
Uganda was represented by a total of four teams which were Uganda Christian University (UCU), Ndejje University, Kyambogo University, and Makerere University.
