The pools for the second leg of the 2024/25 HSBC World Svns Series-Cape Town 7s, set for December 7-8 at Cape Town Stadium, have been confirmed.
This leg introduces a new format with four pools of three teams each, replacing the previous system of three pools of four.
World Svns Series
Dubai 7s champions Fiji, seeded at the top, headline Pool A alongside Great Britain and Uruguay. Pool B features Spain, fresh off an impressive outing in Dubai, Australia, and Kenya, with the latter two renewing their rivalry after clashing last weekend.
Series leaders Argentina are placed in Pool C, facing hosts South Africa and Ireland. Pool D comprises New Zealand, France, and the USA, rounding out a competitive lineup.

The World Sevens Series kicked off thrillingly at the Dubai Sevens Stadium, with Fiji emerging victorious. They secured a dominant 19-5 win over Spain in the final, earning 20 points to top the standings. Spain impressed throughout the tournament, finishing second with 18 points.
Argentina claimed third place, earning 16 points, while New Zealand secured fourth position with 14 points. France completed the top five, collecting 12 points.
Defending Dubai 7s champions South Africa failed to reach the semifinals and ended their campaign in seventh place with 10 points. Australia and Great Britain finished seventh and eighth, respectively, with eight and six points.
Uruguay took ninth place, narrowly defeating Kenya 7s (Shujaa) 15-7 in the ninth-place playoff. Shujaa, marking their return to the revamped series, managed two wins and three losses, earning three points and a 10th-place ranking.
Ireland secured two points, while the USA sit at the bottom of the standings with one point.
