The Kenyan octet currently representing Serengeti Elephants continued their impressive run in the USA, securing their second consecutive title in the second round of the Rugby 10s Championship.
The men’s squad featured Kenya Simbas duo Derrick Ashihundu (Kabras RFC) and Richel Wangila (Kenya Harlequin), along with Zeden Marrow (Kenya Harlequin) and Jactone Osoo (Kabras RFC).

On the women’s side, Christabel Lindo, Stella Wafula, Judith Okumu, and Grace Okulo formed the squad.
In the mixed final, the men’s team dominated the first half, leading 12-0, before the ladies took over in the second half, sealing a 19-0 run for a comprehensive 31-0 victory over the Honey Badgers.
Earlier in the preliminaries, the women’s team defeated Cape Town Wilddogs 29-12 and later thrashed Legion Rugby 46-0 to advance to the final.

The men’s squad started with a 28-5 win over Legion Rugby but suffered a 19-10 loss to Cape Town Wilddogs, finishing second in their group and earning a spot in the final.
The teams will participate in two more rounds to determine the overall champions.
Rugby 10s Championship
This is the fourth edition of the Rugby 10s Championship and the first to be held in the USA. Since its inception in 2021, the tournament has promoted equal rugby opportunities for men and women, attracting teams from over 25 countries to compete for the Franchise Champion Trophy and a share of $1,000,000 in prizes.
