The Shujaa Squad for the 2024 Safari 7s has been confirmed ahead of the tournament slated for Machakos Stadium on Saturday and Sunday.
Kenya U20 and Kabras RFC youngster Jackson Siketa has made the cut. The side will be without key players such as Brian Tanga, John Okoth, Vincent Onyala and Tony Omondi.
Shujaa inclusions
Siketa joins the squad alongside clubmates William Mwanji and Brian Mutua who were part of the extended squad last season and featured in the squad that helped Shujaa return to the Series.
Dennis Abukuse who finished the National 7s Circuit as the top scorer, playmaker Benson Salem, speedster Brian Mutugi and Gabriel Ayimba are also part of the squad.
The squad also has retained key faces George Ooro, Kevin Wekesa, Samuel Asati, Nygel Amaitsa and Patrick Odongo.

Earlier on Monday, four more sides were confirmed for 2024 Safari 7s. Lions Rugby and Red Wailers are the latest to be confirmed for the Africa’s Premier tournament.
National 7s Circuit Champions Kenya Harlequin have been confirmed with Kenyan Universities are set to field a Kenya Varsity select side.
They join other teams that were confirmed during the launch of the Tusker sponsorship.
Kenya’s national rugby team will field two squads: Shujaa and Morans.
Regular participants such as Uganda Cranes and Shogun Rugby (formerly Samurai Rugby) are set to compete again. Zimbabwe will also be returning.
