Darwin mukidza, Allan Namu included in Kenya legends confirmed squad for Uganda

Kenya legends have announced their squad ahead of the upcoming Legends Cup match against Uganda, set to take place at the RFUEA grounds on Saturday 28th September 2024. 

The team will be captained by Eddie Omondi, who will start as the eighth man, anchoring the forward pack.

In the front row, former KCB Rugby captain Curtis Lilako will line up as the loosehead prop, alongside former teammate George Asin as hooker, and Joel Ng’ang’a, a former Kenya Simbas player and current Rugby Director at Kenya Harlequin, at tighthead prop.

The second row will feature former Kenya Simbas captain Wilson K’opondo paired with Edwin Machanje, who recently retired from Mwamba after the 2023/2024 season.

At flanker, Ben Nyambu, a former Kenya 7s player and recent Nondies coach during the concluded sevens circuit, will team up with Nondies’ Steve Odhiambo.

Controlling the game at halfback Peter Tyrrell will start at scrum-half, with Nondies head coach Callum Oliver at fly-half

In the midfield, Mwamba legend Tito Oduk will take the inside center position, partnering with former Kenya 7s captain and current Kenya Rugby Director, Humphrey Kayange, as the outside center.

The back three will see former Kenya 7s and Simbas player, and current Kenya Harlequin chairman, Victor Sudi donning the number 11 jersey on the left wing, with the legendary Collins Injera, Kenya 7s all-time top try scorer, playing on the right wing at 14. 

The full-back position will be filled by Kevin Gachoka, an ex-Mean Machine and Nondies utility back.

The substitutes bench will comprise of renowned journalist John Allan Namu, Darwin Mukidza, newly appointed KCB Rugby head coach Oliver Mang’eni, Thomas Odera, Lewi Maina, Sean Edwards, Felix Osiemo, Francis Ndonga, Solomon Munyua, Mark Dunford, and Michael Mutuku.
