The Rift Valley Rugby Referees Society (RVRRS) is mourning the loss of their Chairman, Daniel Beda Chibata, who passed away on Tuesday at 4:00 a.m. after a seven-month battle with illness.
In a heartfelt statement, RVRRS Secretary Robinson Kiplang’at confirmed the sad news, highlighting Beda’s strength and resilience throughout his illness.
He said despite his condition, Beda never lost his sense of humor, staying true to his character until the very end.
“It is with a heavy and bleeding heart that I bring you the devastating news that our beloved chairman has been called by the heavenly Father. At around 4 a.m. this morning, Daniel Beda took his last breath, bringing to an end a gallant battle he fought for the past seven months. Throughout his illness, he remained steadfast, never losing his trademark humor, until the battle became too strong,” Kiplang’at shared.

Beda had served as the chairman of RVRRS for three years, and according to Kiplang’at, he repaid the trust of the society’s members by serving with dedication and commitment.
“Mr. Beda was elected chairman by the members, and he honored that trust by serving the society diligently with all his heart and might. His loss is immeasurable,” Kiplang’at added.
The RVRRS has promised to communicate further regarding funeral plans and the role members can play in supporting Beda’s family, who are now grieving. Kiplang’at urged society members to stand with the family in prayers during this difficult time.
“For now, let us stand with the family in prayers. May the soul of our dear chairman rest in peace,” he concluded.
