Shajanand Kisumu are the Nyanza Region Bingwafest 10s Champions after edging Kisii University 6-3 in the final played at Mamboleo Stadium.
The match did not have tries and had to be decided by three-pointers with Shajanand managing two to see off Kisii University who managed one penalty.

The victory ensured saw Shajanand became the second grassroots rugby team to bag Ksh.1 Million in the Bingwafest organized by Betting firm Betika as part of their Betika na Community initiative.
Kisii University, on the other hand, walked away with Ksh 500,000 while Winam pocketed Ksh 250,000. To reach the final, Shajanand managed three consecutive wins in the group stage and added two more wins in the knockout stage.

Kisii University also managed three wins in the group stage and two more wins in the knockout stage to finish in second place.
Shajanand now join Makunga RFC who were the Western Champions in the first competition held in Mumias.
The competition other regions such as Rift Valley, Eastern, Coast and Nairobi and later a National tournament will follow featuring regional winners.
