The Kobs and Hippos delivered standout performances on the first day of the Gulu 7s at Pace War Memorial Stadium, each securing three round wins to advance to the quarter-finals.
Kobs and Hippos in Day 1
In the opening round, Kobs, competing in Group C, achieved a dominant 32-0 victory over the Lions, while the Hippos earned a 15-0 win against the Impis.
In the second round, Kobs continued their winning streak with a 24-0 win over the Wolves, and the Hippos triumphed 22-7 against the Heathens.
The third round saw Kobs edge out the Mongers 10-0 in a tightly contested match, while the Hippos showcased their strength with a commanding 31-5 victory over the Black Arrows.

The Rhinos also advanced to the quarter-finals with three round wins.
The teams qualifying for the quarter-finals are Kobs, Hippos, Buffaloes, Heathens, Wolves, Walukuba, Pirates, and Rhinos.
