Driftwood 7s defending champions Kabras RFC, league leaders Kenya Harlequin, and KCB Rugby have secured their places in the cup quarterfinals after winning their first two matches.

After a sluggish start, Kabras RFC looked much sharper in their second game, securing a dominant 24-0 win over Nakuru RFC.

Wekesa leads Kabras

Kenya 7s forward Kevin Wekesa was the standout performer, scoring a try after a break on the left wing. Eric Cantona converted for a 7-0 lead.

Griffin Chao then added a second, with Cantona converting once more. Wekesa’s pace down the left wing saw him cross the line twice more before halftime, giving Kabras a 24-0 lead.

Despite Nakuru’s improved second-half defence, Kabras held on without conceding further.

League leaders Kenya Harlequin maintained their excellent form, cruising to a 31-0 win over Mwamba. Amon Wamalwa opened the scoring by breaking through a ruck, with Lucky Dewald adding the conversion.

Herman Humwa’s powerful carry led to another try, and Wamalwa added the extras for a 14-0 lead. Quins added another converted try before halftime, and in the second half, they piled on two more unconverted tries to complete a comfortable 31-0 victory.

The result puts Quins on six points at the top of their pool, with a superior point differential over Kabras.

Zetech win in Driftwood 7s

Strathmore Leos earned a solid 29-0 win over Kabete Stallions, with Collins Maina and Nygel Amaitsa scoring first-half tries for a 14-0 lead.

Strathmore added 15 more points in the second half to secure the win. Zetech Oaks, meanwhile, held off Catholic Monks for a 12-7 win, scoring two first-half tries for a 12-0 lead.

The drama in Pool D continues, with Strathmore and Zetech both tied on five points, while Monks and Stallions sit on three points each.

KCB 2nd in Driftwood 7s

KCB Rugby stormed into the cup quarterfinals after hammering hosts Mombasa RFC 39-5. The Bankers dominated the match, scoring 22 points in the first half and adding 17 more in the second.

They lead the pool with six points. Meanwhile, Blak Blad kept their quarterfinal hopes alive by thrashing MMUST 33-0. Both Blak Blad and MMUST are tied on four points but will need wins in their final pool matches—MMUST against KCB, and Blad against Mombasa—to advance.
