Pools for 2024 Kabeberi 7s announced

The pools for the 2024 Kabeberi 7s have been revealed, with 16 teams set to compete at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday and Sunday (August 24 and 25).

Pool A sees Kabras RFC, the top seed after their recent Dala 7s victory, facing Nakuru RFC, Strathmore Leos, and invited guests Impala RFC. Kabras RFC, currently leading the log, will be aiming for their first Kabeberi title.

In Pool B, Menengai Oilers are matched up with Catholic Monks, Stallions Rugby, and invited team Kisumu RFC.

Pool C includes Kenya Harlequin, who will go up against Nondies and varsity sides Daystar Falcons, and Blak Blad.

Pool D features MMUST Rugby Club, KCB Rugby, hosts Mwamba, and the newly promoted MKU Thika.

Kabras RFC, having secured their maiden Dala 7s title with a 24-5 win over Menengai Oilers, now lead the circuit with 61 points. This victory has propelled them past Kenya Harlequin, who previously held the top spot.

Kenya Harlequin, now in second place with 58 points after a third-place finish in Kisumu, remain strong contenders under coach Paul Murunga.

KCB Rugby sit in third place with 45 points following their fifth-place finish at the Dala 7s. Despite losing their title, they remain a formidable force in the circuit.

Menengai Oilers have climbed to fourth place with their first-ever final appearance this season, earning crucial points.

Catholic Monks are in fifth place with 40 points, while MMUST holds sixth place with 39 points after reaching their first semi-final of the season.

Nondies are seventh with 37 points, and Nakuru RFC is eighth with 30 points. Strathmore Leos and Daystar Falcons complete the top ten in the standings.
