KCB Rugby have confirmed Oliver Mang’eni as their new 15s head coach following the departure of Curtis Olago.
The Bankers announced Olago’s exit from the den on Friday August 2, 2024 bringing to an end his 13-year coaching stint.
Oliver Mang’eni replaces Olago
Mang’eni known for his prowess in line-out during his playing days has been handed to mantle to replace Olago.
He takes up the role, a year and months after completing his World Level Two Coaching certification.
“The Den has a new King. Mr.Oliver “Olishe” Mang’eni, ladies and gentlemen. Oliver Kizito,” KCB Rugby announced through their accounts.
Prior to this role Mang’eni assisted Olago as a line-out coach at KCB and Kenya U20. The former Kenyan International also worked with Kenya Lionesses in refining line-out.
Mang’eni in coaching
Mang’eni also coached Nairobi Bulldozers an under 15 side in the Futures Cup 2023 and was in charge of the Franchise side Lions in the Rugby Super Series.
The former forward started his rugby at St Mary’s Yala. He won multiple Kenya Cup titles with KCB Rugby under Olago making him one of the club’s legend.
He played for both Kenya 7s and Kenya Simbas.
