Koyonzo Boys rugby have redeemed themselves and have been crowned Western region rugby 7s champions after a 24-07 win over Vihiga Boys at St Peter’s Grounds.
With another repeat of last year’s western region rugby 7s final, Koyonzo were determined to go for the crown and established a tough run over Vihiga managing a 12-00 score in the first half.

In the second half, the Vihiga boys determined to launch a comeback and managed to shake the Koyonzo’s defence to score their first try and a conversion to change the board 12-07.
Koyonzo proving prowess managed to tighten their defense and also launching a tough attack, they managed two other tries to culminate the match 24-07 with two converted tries.

In the girls category, Madira girls played Mbakalo girls in the finals after they secured a frustrating 19-00 win in their semis over Kimobo after the appeal against them was dismissed.
In the finals, Madira Girls secured a hard-fought 15-05 win over Mbakalo girls to lift the Western region girls crown.
