Kenya 7s captains outline areas that need to address ahead of SVNs Series return

Sentiments of what is required ahead of the Kenya 7s return to the World Svns Series are still being tabled and the duo and Co-Captains Vincent Onyala and Anthony Omondi have highlighted their piece.

Onyala leaned towards the pressing issue of player remuneration. He said proper remuneration will ensure that the team is full focused. He also spoke of the need to enhance training facilities.

Onyala on Kenya 7s needs

“Proper remuneration is essential to ensure players are focused and motivated to improve every day. We need to partner with systems that offer better facilities to enhance our training, allowing us to prepare thoroughly at home instead of encountering these facilities just a month before the competition,” Onyala commented during an interview on Spot On.

Now, as they ascended back into the limelight of the HSBC World Rugby 7s Series, the need for proper infrastructure became more apparent than ever.

Omondi on his part believes the squad need to work on their sizes heading to the series and he feels they will need to tripple their effort.

“We need to bulk up more,” Omondi continued, his eyes reflecting the unwavering commitment of the team, “And work twice, if not three times harder than we did in the challenger series,” he pointed out.
