After a thrilling season of the 2023/24, the Kenya Rugby Union has confirmed list of teams that have been relegated and promoted to different leagues.

The season saw teams celebrate their hard-fought victories while others licked their wounds, facing the bitter reality of relegation. In the prestigious top-tier Kenya Cup League, where the battle for supremacy rages fiercest, there were winners and losers alike.

The Catholic Monks found themselves relegated to the KRU Championship. The relegation saw them join Homeboyz RFC who were relegated after 13 years in the top tier.

But where some fell, others rose: the South Coast Pirates, who for the first time after a long fight in the championship league, will make their first appearance in the Top tier division as they are the new championship winners.

Alongside them, the Impala RFC will be returning to the Kenya cup after they were relegated in the 2021/22 season. The former Champions will be keen to return with a bang.

In the Championship Leagues, Kabarak University who had gained promotion in the 2021/2022 season, faced the harsh reality of relegation back to the Nationwide League. Kabarak were relegated after head-to-head rules were used to determine who goes down after the teams tied on points with Machine.

As Kabarak University bid farewell to the Championship Leagues, two new contenders emerged from the fray. The Tum Marines, disciplined and determined, earned their promotion with sweat and sacrifice against Sigalagala National Polytechnic in the semi-finals.

They join the second tier alongside  Zetech Oaks who are the Nationwide league champions and will be keen to flourish in their new-found glory after first stay in the competition failed and they will be replacing Shamas Foundation.

Shamas Foundation did not feature in the 2023/24 Campaign.
