Heathens head coach Athiyo Muhammad has complimented his boys for the spirited fight they put in to win the Championship.
The victory saw the team win the title for the 17th time in the country extending their dominance in Uganda’s top tier.

The coach said he was proud of his boys for their spirited fight in the final game which was won by a slim margin after they conceded two late tries.
“I would like to complement the team , the boys that kept level headed and kept pushing forward till we were able to finish the game as winners,” he said.
During final, the match was halted a couple of times after tensions between the players boiled over. This led to Heathens’ Simon Olet being yellow carded .
The coach said cases of indiscipline in the camp that nearly cost them, However he is grateful that the boys kept pushing forward till the end and managed to finish the game as the champions.

“These are one of the championship games worth watching, we took the lead though there was but of indiscipline in our camp that cost us the lead.”
The match began with the Black Pirates taking an early lead through a penalty. However, the Heathens responded with two tries, giving them a 7-3 lead.
Before halftime, Michael Wokorach assisted Joaquim in scoring a try on the openside, extending the Heathens’ lead to 12-3 at the break. In the second half, Daniel Okello added to the Heathens’ tally with a successful penalty, bringing the score to 15-3.
The Black Pirates mounted a comeback, scoring two quick tries through Roy Kizito and Jeremia Okello, closing the gap to 15-13. Despite this late surge, the Heathens held on to their lead, securing the championship title for the 17th time in the country’s history.
