Black Pirates squad to face Heathens in Uganda Rugby Championship

The Pirates have announced their squad for the highly anticipated Grand Finale of the Uganda Rugby Championship against the Heathens, set to take place at Kyadondo, Kampala this Saturday at 4:00 PM.

Haruma Mohamed has been named at full-back, joining Timothy Odongo on the left wing and Roy Kizito on the right wing.

The front row will feature Rhuweza Alema as the loosehead prop, Nathan Bwambale as the hooker, and Edison Ariho starting as the tight head prop.

The second row will see Umar Duff and Frank Kidega teaming up, while the flanker positions will be occupied by Humphrey Tushobya on the open side and Moses Ziwa on the blind side. Desire Ayera will complete the forward pack as the eighthman.

In the midfield, Isaac Massangamzira will start at inside centre, partnering with Timothy Kisiga at outside centre. The half-back pairing will consist of William Nkore as scrum-half and Ivan Magomu as fly-half.

The Pirates will be looking to defend their title in this crucial match. They secured their spot in the finals by defeating the Jinja Hippos 27-23 and winning on aggregate in the second leg of the semi-finals at King Park Arena.

The Black Pirates won the 2023 season after defeating the Kobs 23-7 at Legends, clinching their second league title, with Ivan Magomu playing a pivotal role.

Now, they aim to capture their third league title as they clash with the Heathens.
