EDITOR’S PICKS:

The Challenger Series, introduced in February 2020, aims to foster the development of rugby sevens globally and provide a pathway to the top level of the sport.

The 2024 edition began with a combined men’s and women’s event in Dubai in January, won by Kenya in the men’s category and China in the women’s.

The series continued with the second round in Montevideo, Uruguay, where the hosts won the men’s event and China claimed the women’s title.

The final round featured standalone men’s and women’s events in Krakow, Poland, and Munich, Germany, respectively.
