Kisii School, Maseno School and St Mary’s Yala secured victories in all of their day-one fixtures in the Nyanza Region School Rugby 15s games.
Kisii School’s impressive performance put them in contention for another opportunity to compete in the National Secondary School Sports Association.
In their first match, Kisii School faced a tough challenge from Anjego Boys but emerged victorious with a narrow 7-0 win, courtesy of a try by Bejil Ochieng’, successfully converted by Matrix Matangi.
The Kisii team continued their winning streak in their second game, securing a convincing 22-0 victory. Bejil Ochieng’ contributed with a single try, while Matrix Matangi scored a brace and Chrispine Jesse added another try, with Matrix converting successfully.

Elsewhere, Nyabondo started their campaign with a win against Agoro Sare but faced defeat in their second match against Kisii School.
Maseno School also displayed their dominance with a strong start, securing a 29-0 win against Gekano in their first match, followed by a commanding 39-0 victory over Cardinal Otunga Mosocho.
Despite a slight setback in their first match against Kisii, Anjego Boys redeemed themselves with a 22-0 win over Agoro Sare.
Saint Mary’s Yala demonstrated their might with an impressive 65-0 win against Cardinal Otunga Mosocho in their opening match, followed by a solid 41-0 victory over Gekano.
