Kakamega School beat Chavakali in Western Regionals build up match

Kakamega School rugby beat Chavakali high school 14-00 in a 15s build-up rugby game played on Wednesday. 

Kakamega put two tries past Chavakali to claim victory with the tries being scored by Emmanuel Mbakaya with Ryan Juma coming in with a successful conversion.

Ryan Juma showed his conversion prowess by converting the second try scored by Kelvin Mbaisi sealing the win with Chavakali failing to manage a point.

The Barbarians and Chavakali high school 15s  rugby teams have all qualified for the regionals and were using the game to get ready for the regionals to be held in Vihiga county from 20th-23rd March.

EDITOR’S PICKS:

Both qualified as runners-up from their respective counties and have been pooled in separate 15s pools ahead of the championship scheduled for 20th -23rd March in Vihiga county.

The named pools will see Kakamega School in Pool A alongside Vihiga county champions Vihiga Boys, Mundika Boys, who were the runners-up in Busia County and Bungoma County Champions Bungoma High School

Koyonzo Boys who are the Kakamega County Champions will compete in pool B against, Chavakali High School who were second in Vihiga County, National Champions Butula High and Kimobo Secondary from Bungoma.

Stakes will be high for all the teams with previous champions from the region going all to achieve a title or a semifinal place in the Nationals. Butula will seek to defend the title they won last season.

Koyonzo High School, on the other hand, will be chasing the maiden title in the region.

2019 Champions Kakamega School and other former Champions Bungoma seeking to reclaim the title.
