Koyonzo High School coach Eliud Okwemba has made the final list for the Sports Personality of the Year Awards (SOYA)- School’s Coach of the Year category.
Okwemba’s Koyonzo bagged the 7s title for the second year in a row going unbeaten locally for the second consecutive year.
They went a notch higher to win their maiden East African 7s title on their second appearance in the regional event.

His Butula’s counterpart Shimenga who had been nominated after guiding the side to their maiden 15s title in the National Games has missed out on the final list.
Kwanzanthe’s Justin Kigwari, St Anthony’s Peter Mayoyo, Nyamira Girls Stephen Kigai, and Isaac Muresia of Namwela have made the cut.
The schools’ category returns to SOYA having last featured in 2019 before the COVID-19 struck leading to the suspension of sporting activities.
