In an earlier match, Western Bulls clinched a thrilling 13-11 victory against Mean Machine at Kakamega Showground, enhancing their playoff aspirations.
The first half ended scoreless, but the intensity heightened in the second half.
Kenneth Omaset kicked a penalty to give Mean Machine a 3-0 lead, but Western Bulls responded strongly with tries from Gascoigne Muganzi and Efedha Emmanuel, putting them ahead 10-3.
Omaset and Allan Kasiti exchanged penalties, extending Bulls’ lead to 13-6. Despite a late try from James Oluoch for Mean Machine, Bulls held on for a narrow 13-11 victory.
Elsewhere, MMUST Rugby and Daystar extended their lead at the top of the table with impressive away wins moving to seven wins this season. MMUST defeated USIU 39-15, while Daystar beat UoE Trojans 38-8 in Eldoret.
Mombasa RFC secured a close 18-17 victory over JKUAT Cougars to round off the exciting weekend of Kenya Cup action.
