In the second stanza, Tony Omondi slotted in a penalty for Mwamba RFC before Leos pulled one back after landing a penalty try. It was after Matoka Matoka had nicely cut through Mwamba’s defence and then chipped the ball over Mwamba’s full-back and as he was almost grounding the ball, the ball was kicked out of play by a Mwamba player leaving Constant Cap with no option but to award the hosts a penalty try.
Mwamba’s resilient defence would hold on to win the game 22-7. This is the sixth consecutive defeat for Strathmore Leos and on the other hand the third straight win for Mwamba RFC. The win gives Mwamba RFC hopes of playing in the play offs after having a rather slow start early on.
